Maunga Cycle Challenge and Fun Ride. 
14th. of November 2010 is the date for this years event.

The Te Awamutu Rotary Club and Te Awamutu Sports Cycling Club present "The Maunga Cycle Challenge" There is a choice of 3 events. The individual 100K event, a 100km 3 member team relay or a 30K individual fun ride (also a prize for the best dressed)

Prizes valued at $5000 plus a bike were presented last year. These were donated by local individuals and businesses. The winner of the 100k open event received $1000 with lesser amounts down to 10th. place.

We use electronic timing, giving accurate finish times and a challenge for participants to better their own times year by year. As in previous years, a grant to the Maungatautari Ecological Trust for the maintenance of the island reserve will be made from the proceeds of this event. The reserve is becoming well known nationally and internationally and the publicity of this cycle race and the reserve will be of mutual advantage.
